A friend of mine found a place to watch the game online, for anyone interested check out the site http://www.justin.tv/rangers05fan

Some of you are probably wondering what happened to the post I put up last night concerning Puck Daddy's omission with a pimp to our blog. Well, he apologized and attributed the lack of pimpage to a Sunday morning hangover so I pulled the piece. In hindsight, I should have just edited it to let people know about the apology.

EDIT: 6:41 PM

We're still going to earn your praise Wyshynski!

Ah well, I'll move on and discuss what people are writing about the Ottawa Senators on the World Wide Web.

Off the Posts

What my buddy Matt told me last night has held true, as reported by Bruce Garrioch, here are the lines for tonight's game:

Foligno-Vermette-Shannon
Ruutu-Bass-Donovan
Kelly-McAmmond-Isbister
Zubov-Regin-Carkner

Defence
Bell-Volchenkov
Schubert-Lee
Phillips-Richardson

Auld will start and play 40 minutes. Glass will be the backup.

Apparently Alfredsson's groin is feeling better and he'll be available to play tomorrow night against Philly. I like how Alfie has learned his lesson and doesn't feel compelled to dress in meaningless games like last year's All Star Game.

The Ottawa Sun:

Boo Boo also took the time to write an article on Wade Redden. To paraphrase, it will be weird for Wade to play against his old team. You know what will be really weird Wade? If you somehow manage to work your ass off in the gym to reverse that negative trend that many call regression. Getting a fat contract from NY was probably the worst thing that could have happened to this guy. He's a shadow of the player that he once was.

Boo Boo also mentioned that in an unsurprising move, the team had returned Jim O'Brien to the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL.

Hockeybuzz:

Nothing really new from Kevin Lee except for the fact that he's already called out Mike Fisher. Here's an exerpt from his Saturday blog:

Sens fans will get to see a line combination that many have yearned for during training camp as Fisher will center Neil and Ruutu. The problem is, Fisher should be pegged once again for second line minutes. How can you justify a guy playing on the third line earning 6 million dollars this season?

...But his cap hit is really $4.2 million, it just means that his contract is front-loaded. Meaning that if he doesn't prove his worth and the Sens can get him to waive his movement clause, it will be more palatable for a team to trade for him down the road. I can understand Kevin's frustration with Fisher's contract because aside from Gerber's, it's probably the second worst on the team. But come on, I mean come on. This summer has shown us that recent free agent signings and inflation have actually made Fisher's salary look reasonable. I don't really undertand Kevin's contempt for how much Fisher actually earns though, it comes off as if he's personally offended by what he's earning. It's like asking if Fisher will feel less compelled to work hard when his annual salary is like $3 million later in his contract.

The problem with Fisher is that aside from Havlat, he's never been able to gel with a skilled forward. Whenever he's been paired with someone like Alfredsson, he's played like garbage. Personally, if Fisher's more comfortable in a checking role with some grinders then leave him where's he's efficient. If anything, he'll be the best 3rd line center in the NHL and with special teams' time, Fisher will get more than 3rd line minutes. He just needs to produce on special teams and be more consistent because he has shown flashes of more potential than production.
