Hockey Talk

So less than a week after Chris Neil's agent came out and said that his client would not be looking for $2.5M on the open market, fans that don't want to see Bryan Murray keep Neil around at an inflated salary can rest a bit easier. Apparently the two parties haven't talked since the season ended and no talks are planned in the future. While Neil's salary may no longer be that big of a hindrance, the Sun is reporting that his agent is looking for a 4-5 year deal. (Note: If you're reading this on Monday morning, my apologies. That 4-5 year deal reference likely inspired you to spit coffee all over your computer screen. Sorry.)

Fresh Prince?

With Antero Niittymaki and Martin Biron headed towards unrestricted free agency, TSN's Darren Dreger is reporting that the Flyers have held numerous discussions with Ray Emery's agent JP Barry. Personally, I couldn't think of a better location for Ray.

Good offence. Good defence. Desperate for a goalie. Not a bad situation...

Unless you take into account that Philly sports fans are nuts. Seriously though, when these people are renowned for throwing batteries at JD Drew and booing Santa Claus, Scott Rolen and Mike Schmidt -- what's the worst that can happen?

So how quickly could Ray screw this situation up? As soon as he disses Rocky and Philadelphia's heritage by fashioning a mask that's adorned with images of Apollo Creed.

Rollback The Salary To Win?

Don knows that a player's salary is subsequently rolled back with any reduction in the NHL Salary Cap right? Right?
