From the Ithaca Journal...
ITHACA -- Cornell senior forward Colin Greening signed a professional contract with the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League on Saturday.
Greening was a seventh-round draft pick of the Senators in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
He is the second Cornell senior to sign with a pro team this season. Defenseman Brendon Nash signed a two-year deal with the Montreal Canadiens on March 30.
Greening was a two-year captain at Cornell and finished his four-year career 33rd in school history with 118 points in 137 games.
This season he was second on the team in scoring, tallying 35 points (15 goals, 20 assists).
He also was a first-team All-Ivy League and second-team All-ECAC hockey selection.
On April 8, Greening was selected as the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award winner. The award, chosen by a vote of Division I men's coaches, national hockey media and fans, is given annually to the most outstanding student-athlete in NCAA Division I men's ice hockey.
Greening also received ECAC Hockey's scholar-athlete award this season.
Cornell qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season before being eliminated by New Hampshire in the East Regional semifinal in Albany, 6-2.
