Souray Refuses To Waive NTC For Ottawa? 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 3
According to Hockeybuzz's Eklund, that's the case...

Souray actually came out and admitted he would indeed waive his NTC if the team he was going to made sense for his family. Players rarely say that much and usually when they do start saying these kinds of things in public it is because they are mentally preparing. Souray is a class act through and through. He has refused to waive his NTC in the past. I know for fact that Souray refused to go to Ottawa a few days before July 1 as part of the foiled Heatley deal. There are some who believe that Souray wants to be an LA King. There was definitely talk last deadline that almost saw Souray included in the three-way deadline deal that saw O'Sullivan move from LA to Edmonton.

His family? Didnt he just get divorced from his biker-chick-stripper wife? And he would rather troll for pussy on Sunset Blvd. than @ Kanata Centrum? What a weirdo.

The previous post was good for a laugh. The reasons that Souray wants to be close to LA is for his children, not his ex-wife.

As an Oiler fan myself, to me I think that the translation of this news is basically, "Get me the hell out of here."

I honestly think that the news about him willing to waive his NTC is a polite way of asking to be traded.

Ottawa is even further from LA obviously, so I don't think that it would be a prime destination for him. I imagine that he would like to go to LA (obviously), or maybe San Jose, Anaheim, Dallas, or even Colorado.

I'm amazed that you discussed the polite way to ask to be traded without ripping on Dany Heatley.
